FORT MILL, S.C. – October 16, 2023. Continental, one of the largest tire and automotive technology suppliers in the world, is introducing to its truck tire portfolio new 19.5” rim size drive and steer tires developed with the needs of class 4 and 5 vehicles in mind.
These tires were specifically developed to fit the needs of class 4 and 5 vehicles and meet the needs of different vocations. Class 4 and 5 vehicles made up 2.5 million of the commercial vehicle registration in 2022 and handle up to 14,0001 lbs. - 19,500 lbs.
The General RA 2 is a 19.5” all-position tire for regional and urban applications. It features a closed shoulder tread pattern that provides even wear and reduced noise. The General RD 2 is a 19.5” drive tire used for regional and urban applications with an aggressive tread design to deliver traction in any weather condition.
The Class 4 and 5 vehicle market consistes largely of utility trucks, ambulances, large recreational vehicles, and last mile delivery vehicles. They travel both on highways and urban roads in all types of climates and need a tire that can handle these various terrains.
The General RA 2 and General RD 2 tires were designed with durability and improved mileage in mind and specifically for the vocations they serve in mind. With a smooth and even tread wear and durable casing allowing for multiple retreads, the General RA 2 and General RD 2 will meet the vocation’s needs for multiple years.
