FORT MILL, S.C., July 15, 2024 — Continental Tire, one of the largest tire and automotive technology suppliers in the world, has released a size extension of its Conti Hybrid HT3 in size 255/70R22.5 in load range H. It features a 16/32nds tread depth to perform better in a wide variety of applications including high scrub situations. This product will replace the Conti EcoPlus HT3.
The size extension is intended to be used on car haulers, van trailers, beverage haulers, as well as long haul and regional light construction vehicles such as cement mixers and over-the-road dump trucks.
The Conti Hybrid HT3 255/70R22.5 was made to withstand the abuse that these wheel positions often face. As a lift and tag axle position tire, the robust compound and design in the size extension are intended to aid in the high scrub situations that tires in these applications typically see.
The tread pattern is designed to withstand abrasions and features fuel-efficient compounding. This compounding allows for lower rolling resistance, and heat buildup in service and wears up to 26 percent better than the EcoPlus HT3. The size extension also has a matching winged retread to make it more robust when retreaded.
This tire is monitored best when it has Continental’s Generation 2 tire-mounted sensor and is paired with Continental’s digital tire monitoring solutions, ContiConnect Live. ContiConnect Live also has a trailer-only version for trailers that are dropped at locations for later use.
